abby and the ghost is the musical project of 22-year old singer/songwriter Abigail Johnson, who is originally from Deep River, CT and is now based in Rochester, NY. This artist spans multiple genres---now breaking into a more indie/acoustic direction than her initial hyperpop sound on her debut ep "passionate computer." A classically trained singer and pianist, abby writes, records, and produces all of her music in her bedroom. abby enjoys using songwriting as a storytelling platform, and plans to continually bounce between these distinct genres---whatever the story in question calls for. She incorporates rich harmonic vocal layering into all of her work, pulling from her experiences arranging music a cappella. abby also plays keys and sings backup vocals for BB DANG, local Rochester cover band. She is a founder and zine contributor for PHAGS, an art collective which explores queer perspectives and connects with Rochester's vibrant queer community.
